A few pointers to help you at each stage of the application process.

Your application form: Don't miss anything out

Make sure you complete all required sections and give us all details we need to move your application through as quickly as possible.

Your online test: Find a quiet spot and practice first

Try to do your test in a place where you won’t be disturbed and can go at your own pace. If you need reasonable adjustments, just let us know using the contact details in your test invite email. You’ll also find a link to practice tests in our FAQs section.

Your interview: Show us who you are and plan ahead

Think about any experiences you’ve had that could help us to see how well you’d do in a role with us. These don’t have to be workplace related – you might have examples from your studies or your hobbies and interests. 

Do your research:

Keep the skills we’re after in mind – do you love meeting new people? Are you happy to take on a range of tasks? It’s a good idea to browse our website and visit a store to learn more about us. After all, this is also about you selecting us!

Ask us anything (well, anything work-related!).

Our interviews are a two-way process, so you’ll be welcome to ask us questions too. It’s a good idea to think of a few in advance. And if you don’t understand a question, or would like us to repeat any, just let us know.

FAQs

Got questions? Here are some answers to the ones that come up most often.

What if I have a disability that makes it difficult to apply online?

Not a problem. Just drop an email to hiringcompliance@tjxeurope.com and ask for details of our alternative application method. If you’re unable to email, just give us a call or ask the team instore, and they'll provide you with a paper application form instead.

What if I don’t have access to a computer?

First, we'd encourage you to try your local library or job centre. It is technically possible to apply using a smartphone, but the application form, assessment and offer process are optimised for computers. Future updates and emails, however, should be easy to access with a smartphone.

Can I just hand my CV into the processing centre?

To make sure our application process is fair and compliant, we use the same process for all candidates, unless they have a disability that makes it difficult to apply online. As we roll out this online process, however, some stores may continue to run a paper-based process. So if you don’t find a vacancy for your store online, please speak to the instore team who will be able to assist you with a paper-based process, where applicable.  

Is there a closing date?

There’s no official closing date. We just keep hiring until our vacancies are filled. This can happen quite quickly, however, so we’d strongly recommend making your application as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out.

How can I find out what’s happening with my application?

We’ll keep you posted with any developments through the email you supply at the time of your application and, if your application progresses, we’ll let you know the next steps so you have plenty of time to prepare.

Can I practice before I take the online assessment?

Yes, of course. Go to Practice Tests | SHL Direct, then scroll down and click on Situational Judgement Test. This website is managed by our assessment partners, SHL, so we're not responsible for its content or data management.

I’ve got an interview – is there a dress code?

There isn’t a specific dress code, but we’d recommend that you wear something smart that you also feel comfortable in.

I applied before but I wasn’t successful – can I apply again?

Yes, that’s fine, so long as it's been at least six months since you last applied. Try to reflect on what went well last time, and how you think you could do even better this time.

What should I bring to show my Right to Work in the UK?
