We have an opportunity to join our team of entrepreneurial Buyers in our Danish Buying Office (based in central Copenhagen). As a Buyer, you’ll buy for a breadth of international customers within your Category, hunting in Denmark all through the year for the hottest brand names and designer merchandise which will be sold in our stores across 6 European countries and ecommerce website.

 

As Buyer, you’ll report into the Divisional Vice President Market Manager for Scandinavia and build strong relationships and networks across our world-class Buying and Merchandising organisation. You will be responsible for driving your buying strategy for your market, deciding which brands we buy from, the products we buy and of course negotiating all aspects of the deal.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Building open relationships with other Buyers, Buying Managers, Market Managers, Buying Directors, Market Directors across all countries, categories and divisions as well as our Merchandising organisation;
  • Creating and developing a vision for your own market strategy while supporting and influencing a departmental strategy as part of a European team;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and negotiating all parts of the deal to ensure beneficial outcomes for both and drive the commercial potential of your market;
  • Continuously searching for new business, product and vendor opportunities;
  • Driving and adapting your approach by leveraging insights from all key markets, the latest trends and consumer habits and consistently shopping / analysing stores and competition.

 

Do you have what we are looking for?

  • Buying and / or related experience (e.g. Merchandising, Account Management, Product Management, Sales / Business Development) in a fast-moving retail or fashion / home apparel environment with strong negotiation and influencing skills;
  • Off-Price experience would be beneficial (although not essential) and we’re open to candidates from both bricks and mortar and ecommerce businesses;
  • Multi-brand experience is advantageous although we’re open to mono-brand backgrounds – we’re interested in your passion for brands and products as well as the latest trends;
  • Commercial and Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrable experience of driving business success, handling complexity and taking calculated risks;
  • An ability to build strong and solid networks within an international business;
  • Resilience when faced with challenging situations;
  • An open mind and an ability to look at both sides of the coin while dealing with ambiguity and can make on the spot decisions through gut instincts and data;
  • Ability to travel frequently travel throughout Denmark and abroad (we continue to observe all government guidelines and travel restrictions to ensure the health and well-being of all our associates).
