TJX Europe is looking for a Logistics Specialist - Customs to join our Logistics Customs team. This newly created role is based in our German Head Office in Düsseldorf. The initial focus of the role will be to support both the Customs function and help deliver Logistics and Distribution goals.
Reporting into the Logistics Manager – Customs you’ll work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to identify Custom bottlenecks and offer solutions to improve flow. You will also work very close with the TJX Customs team in the UK to align processes and drive efficiencies, best practices and assist in building strong relationships with the EU authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of German Customs regimes
- Knowledge of the Customs mainframe system, ATLAS
- Experience of EU preferential trade schemes, EU Global Tariff and tax implications
- Knowledge of the AEO program to support Customs EU audits
- Building relationships with authorities mainly in Germany and Poland to help secure a compliant profile
- operational calls with the Customs broker to resolve issues and ensure a smooth flow through Customs
- Working with the UK Customs team to align processes and identify best practices
- Partner with other business areas to deliver core objectives
- Build strong relationships with our carriers
- Partner internally in all TJX Europe on key aspects of Brexit and its changes and impacts
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Fluent in German & English (Polish would be desirable but not essential)
- Customs experience in a large retail / freight forwarding environment
- Good overall knowledge of Customs systems, regimes & processes (EU)
- Strong understanding of Customs technical matters
- Good organisation and presentation skills with a strong analytical mind
- Ability to interpret complex data and convert into relevant information
