Logistics Specialist - Merchant & Vendor Logistics

 

Job Summary

Analyzes and supports short and long term progress and performance of the web based solution for ticket management.  Develops and executes new/existing vendor on-boarding and provides on-going program support.  Acts as the primary resource for vendors, merchandising, TJX division stakeholders, agents, Global Buying Offices and ticket providers involved in the web based solution for ticket management.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develops, analyzes and publishes progress and performance reporting.
  • Presents results to the business leader(s) in preferred tool (i.e. Cognos, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, provider reporting tools).
  • Partners with new and current ticket suppliers before, during and after provider or process implementation to   ensure all parties have a complete understanding of TJX and vendor requirements and recommendations, as well as, the downstream impact.
  • Researches and analyzes any issues with web based ticketing that come from internal or external customers and makes independent decisions to resolution.
  • Participates in the weekly updates with the ticket providers and TJX ticketing stakeholders to identify and review issues.  Suggests enhancements to internal and external software solutions to best support the needs of the business
  • Assists in the strategic roll out plan for vendor’s participation in the web based ticket program.  Offers suggestions, based on analysis and changing business needs to update the strategy as necessary.
  • Develops and leads training sessions (in person or via video conference) that give an overview of the program, teaches how to navigate the provider sites and how to trouble shoot issues.  These training sessions are for Merchandise Support, TJX satellite offices, GBOs and their logistics/intake/imports teams, agents and key vendors.
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting of the web based ticket program progress to be shared with appropriate audience(s).
  • Works with IT as primary UAT support for ticketing projects with responsibility of providing feedback.
  • Ensures database is current and accurately synched with external integrated systems.
  • Regularly manages and responds to all internal and external questions and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Special projects, as assigned.  

 

Job Impact

No direct financial impact.  Assists in $25-30 million in TJX cost savings per year, which equals approximately 80% savings per year in ticket production and labor costs

 

Decision Making

Suggests enhancements to third party ticketing providers’ portals to improve user experience.
Analyzes and suggests changes to the program (i.e. participates in the provider bids, evaluates dept/country/ticket type splits, collaborates and revises ticketing instructions across divisions for consistency).

 

Job Knowledge

Minimum formal education, if any, required to perform this job e.g., Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Law Degree):

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Minimum job skills required to perform this job (for example: programming languages, strong interpersonal skills, computer software packages):

Strong relationship building skills at all levels of the organization.
Broad knowledge of EDI/PO/ASN and Ticketing business concepts and procedures.
Strong Excel skills, proficient in Word, PowerPoint, use of COGNOS or other data mining tools helpful.  Experience in business process supported by EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) helpful.

 

Minimum experience required to perform this job:

1-3 years experience required
