Major Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Develop front-end UX/UI features using JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, JQuery, Ajax.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and write specifications for user interfaces and workflow.
  • Use subject matter expertise in tools like Javascript, HTML5, JQuery UI, and CSS3, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Ensure all touchpoints (website, landing pages and marketing campaigns across desktop, mobile and tablets) are coherent and reflective of our product strategy and vision.
  • Interact with stakeholders, developers, architects and product/project managers.
  • Participate in cross-functional design discussions and ensure that Business and IT stakeholders understand the impacts and effects of development decisions.
  • Review business requirements to create deliverables, suggest enhancements and provide guidance on best-practice implementation.
  • Work with business users and project managers to understand current state and future state development requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Act as a technical resource and partner with front-end developers in an effort to improve the overall usability of the functionally being designed.
  • Work with product and solutions managers to facilitate an understanding of deliverables, sizing estimates, and prioritization decisions.
  • Performs programming, COTS configuration, code analysis, debugging, review, develops and executes unit/integration tests.
  • Sets up application jobs, creates test data, supports non-production environments, all at a medium to high level of complexity
  • Creates and reviews Detailed Technical Specifications and performs the review of
  • Technical Design for tasks of medium to high level of complexity. Provides technical approval of Technical Design for tasks of low to medium level of complexity
  • Consults on the estimates, design preparation and operational support escalations for small to medium tasks of medium to high level of complexity
  • Prepares Production Readiness documentation for implementations of low to medium level of complexity
  • Acts in Development Lead capacity for small to medium initiatives, prioritizing and assigning project tasks, providing guidance and resolving issues. Reports status to Project management and interfaces with other domains, IT areas and 3rd party vendors as needed.
  • Actively participates in Solution Development process definitions and development of Solution Development best practices and standards.
  • Contributes to new technology, vendor package and tool road mapping, evaluation and introduction.
  • Contributes to defining and enforcing the source control and release management processes and standards.
  • Ensures compliance with Performance, Security, Availability, Recoverability and Supportability standards and policies and provides Monitoring recommendations for tasks of low to medium level of complexity.
  • Works with the Systems Development Life Cycle and adheres to Sarbanes Oxley compliance and all TJX Company standards.


Decision Making

  • Authorized to approve Technical Design for tasks of low to medium level of complexity.
  • Responsible for most technical decisions within assigned scope.
  • Authorized to provide a review sign off on Detailed Technical Specs, System Documentation




  • 4+ years of software development using Javascript, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, and other JS libraries.
  • Demonstrated excellence with UX/UI skills with a portfolio of successful accomplishments.
  • Knowledge of ATG Commerce is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Java and JSP is a plus.
  • Understanding of website accessibility standards is a plus.
  • Possess a passion for integrating design and technology and creating intuitive and powerful interfaces that meet the business needs
  • Experience with JQuery UI frameworks
  • Good understanding of cross-browser implications across desktop, mobile, and tablets.
  • Experience developing web interfaces for all major browsers such and Chrome, FireFox, Internet Explorer, and Safari and in depth knowledge of developing touch sensitive applications for mobile devices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies such as Agile and Scrum


Minimum Experience

  • 3-6 years in IT, specifically in the technical design, development and implementation or support of business systems


Minimum Formal Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in technology or information systems or equivalent work experience.
