Of course, our approach to Merchandising is unlike any other retailer, so we’ll make sure you have the right classroom and on the job training to give you a head start on a long-term career.

It begins with classroom and on the job training, through the Planning & Allocation School of Excellence, ("PASE"). You will get an inside view of the business and a better understanding of our off-price business model before you move into your first role as an Allocation Analyst within Merchandising Planning & Allocation. In this role, you will be assigned a specific product area and will be empowered to help drive sales by allocating the exciting mix of brands that our Buyers have purchased. You will do this by analyzing sales trends and anticipating consumer buying patterns and product trends. You will conduct store visits to evaluate merchandise assortments as well as interact with all levels of management. Throughout, you’ll benefit from the mentorship and guidance of our Learning & Development partners during your training, which continues throughout your career.

In a business where you never experience the same day twice, here is a sampling of how we’ll challenge you to think creatively and drive for results:

  • Analyze sales reports and make recommendations in the business
  • Create allocation strategies for our stores
  • Directly responsible for several multi-million dollar product classifications
  • Visit TJX stores and competitors to analyze/ evaluate the product mix
  • Resolve merchandise issues with our Distribution Centers, Buyers, and Vendors

Our Corporate Office is located in Framingham, MA. We offer a structured career path that begins in Planning & Allocation and can lead into Buying and Executive Management. Our Buyers are global travelers, sourcing from over 100 countries to build relationships and negotiate with more than 20,000 vendors. Our Buyers are responsible for the amazing merchandise and exciting values found in our stores.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

This program is for self-starters who already have the foundation of strategic and analytical thinking and are now ready to put them to use in the world of business. Specifically, we are looking for:

  • Strong ability to work with numbers, analyze data and think critically
  • Genuine interest in retail, product and following trends
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong desire to drive for results
  • Excellent communicators who work well in teams
  • Proven leadership abilities and a strong work ethic
  • Problem solvers who can think creatively
  • Self-starters who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Recently or soon to be complete with postsecondary education, with a GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Eligible to start in February 2020
  • Reliable transportation is required as TJX is not easily accessible to public transportation. A variable work schedule is part of role based on the needs of the business. You may need to travel to area stores or work hours that do not coincide with the public transportation schedule.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire
