As HR Business Partner you’ll work closely with the Head of HR – Stores, across our London region and will be responsible for the following:


  • Driving and influencing the business, people and HR agendas to enable co-delivery of the HR and Business Plans
  • Working collaboratively with Centres of Expertise, HR Service Centre and other HR Business Partners across the HR function to provide HR solutions to the business;
  • Supporting the development of the country HR strategy and translating the goals into operating plans for the organisational area;
  • Leading and championing the implementation of any significant capability, cultural and change activities as well as acting as the conscience of the business;
  • Providing coaching and in-the-moment leadership development to senior leaders, building their skills and confidence in leading their teams
  • Influencing the organisation to manage an appropriate balance of resource to meet changing needs, fulfilling the short and long term ambitions of the organisation strategy.
  • Taking the lead on investigating and resolving complex or high-profile employee relations issues, such as grievances and disciplinaries, in accordance with company policy and values.


Key skills, knowledge and experience  

  • Significant multi-site HR experience in a fast moving, customer facing organisation such as retail, leisure or other service-related sectors
  • Experience of working in a matrix environment would be beneficial.
  • Leadership and team management experience
  • Strategic perspective but with a strong operational focus – can manage detail as well as big picture
  • High level of initiative and judgement
  • Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the business area
  • High level, but broad HR Knowledge
  • Operates with a high level of resilience and emotional intelligence
  • Confident and credible at all levels with high personal impact.
  • A natural coaching style to challenge their partners to think differently and seek new perspectives and move beyond obstacles.
  • Can cope with volume and complexity whilst being able to deal with rapidly changing plans and priorities
