As the Assistant Vice President, Product Compliance you will be responsible for leading TJX’s Product Safety and Compliance function, helping us to enable the purchase and flow of billions of dollars in goods!

You will coordinate efforts to build, maintain, and improve upon processes and procedures to promote and verify the purchase of compliant and safe goods of our global businesses. Developing and leading a team responsible for gathering, preserving, and distributing proof of compliance where applicable, and to cease the distribution or sale of noncompliant goods.


Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develop and coordinates merchant training, vendor relations, and processes, procedures, and technology intended to ensure the merchandise TJX procures complies with all relevant laws, regulations, safety requirements, and internal or external standards such as environmental sustainability claims in all relevant geographies, including U.S., Canada, and Australia, and all the states, provinces, and territories therein.
  • Stays current on legal and business developments that impact the design and scale of the product-safety and compliance program.
  • Manages, coaches, and mentors direct reports and develops them for future growth within the function and organization
  • Is responsible for performance and professional development of Associates within the product-compliance function
  • Instills and maintains focus on continuous improvement regarding all aspects of product compliance.


Position Requirements:

  • 8+ years of product safety and compliance experience, with a minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience.
  • Excellent judgement, leadership, interpersonal, communication, organization, prioritization, technical, process-improvement, influencing, and leadership skills.
  • Significant experience overseeing and leading compliance and safety requirements for a diverse array of products, ideally with global reach.
  • Experience championing and leading organizational change and development, with a focus on instilling a culture of continuous improvement.
  • International experience a plus.
