What you’ll do

There has been a significant growth in demand from all divisions to provide end to end support for high profile hybrid business events often with large numbers of attendees in multiple locations. Events include Corporate and Divisional State of the Company updates, Leadership virtual conferences, Divisional Seasonal Events and many other examples. We have a variety of internal and externally provided tools to support such events, subject to business requirements.

The Manager of Technology will be part of the End User Services function within I&O and will have responsibility for understanding the business requirements and timings of events for all divisions globally, advising on the correct technology solution on a case-by-case basis and then overseeing the end-to-end support of the events, including planning, engaging third parties, pre-event testing and ensuring technical support is on hand during the event. This role will also involve taking ownership of support for our Board of Directors meetings.

 

This is a new and evolving global service within the End User Services function within I&O and an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of business colleagues at all levels of the organisation. It also provides an excellent opportunity to take ownership of defining and maturing a new service.

 

Service Ownership & Operations

  • Partnering with the business to understand the annual calendar of events
  • Determining the business requirements for each event
  • Advising on the correct internal and/or third-party tools needed to meet the business requirements, ranging from Self Service to use of third-party services
  • Overseeing the planning, preparation, testing and ‘on the day’ support for each event
  • Providing IT Support for Board of Directors and Shareholder meetings, including ‘in person’ support.
  • Determining any legal, commercial or privacy requirements (which may vary geographically)
  • Help to drive adoption of our existing tools and as new features are added

  • Ownership of the ongoing evolution of the Event service to meet business needs
  • Aligning the service offering to other business facing Collaboration and Communication strategies where needed.
  • Contribute to ongoing EUS strategy definition as required

Team Management

  • This role will utilise a ‘virtual’ team from within End User Services and potentially third parties.
  • Provide indirect management to other EUS team members as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success collaborating, partnering and influencing at multiple levels and across all functions in the organisation
  • Confidence and ability to provide ‘in person’ support to the most senior members of the organisation including the Board of Directors
  • Ability to use judgement and make decisions under pressure
  • Proven track record of Business and IT stakeholder management
  • Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate operational activities across multiple stakeholder groups globally including vendors
  • Detailed understanding of the technology solutions available
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
