As we source merchandise globally from a universe of more than 21,000 vendors and over 100 countries we must ensure we continue to meet Consumer Product Safety requirements and stay abreast of legislation to proactively address potential issues.


The Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for identifying and mitigating risk associated with product, consumer, and other regulatory requirements, especially as relate to products regulated by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, such as toys and other children’s products, home products, and apparel. This position represents TJX on related legal and compliance issues. The Regulatory Compliance Manager manages, monitors, researches and communicates, both internally and externally, consumer-product regulatory standards and procedures, to ensure the organization remains compliant with government regulations and manages risk accordingly.



  • Ensures product compliance with regulations overseen by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and various other government agencies, including state and local regulatory agencies
  • Ensures that required testing and compliance processes are executed and documented in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws as well as internal TJX policies
  • Manages and executes product recalls
  • Facilitates and promotes growth, development and awareness to applicable parties across the entire business by putting programs in place and introducing improved processes
  • Represents TJX to various government and regulatory agencies
  • Responds to government inspections and executes product recalls as required
  • Monitors compliance regulations and procedures on a continuous basis and communicates any revisions or changes to key internal partners
  • Ensures integrity and flow of information in and out of TJX regarding the above – partners with Sr. Management regarding corporate and legal aspects




  • 3 - 5 years of comparable children’s product,  home product, and/or apparel safety compliance, especially imports, product development and/or risk management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing others
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build effective working relationships with internal and external partners in a rapidly changing environment
  • Comfortable collaborating and partnering across business functions including Legal, Merchandising and Product Development
  • Experience with retail merchandising and inventory management applications a plus as well as the ability to adopt and implement new technology/tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365/Office suite
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
