Position Description:  Under the direction of infrastructure management, act as a primary infrastructure architect, providing technical solutions for the TJX Corporate environment. Utilize expertise in servers, virtualization, desktops, networking, storage, operating systems (Windows and Linux), utilities, appliances, wireless devices, etc. to provide technical direction and guidance to project and support teams as assigned. Provide senior participation in product analysis, change management, audit compliance, vendor relations, customer service and security. 


Work closely within Development and Operations organizations to implement the necessary tools and process to support the design, automation, deployments and testing of infrastructure and middleware. This will include assessing and implementing robust monitoring, alerting and logging tools, automating system builds, middleware deployments, testing and validation of environment stability.


Work on project teams as well as internal operations teams on various projects including server builds, audits, third party software installation and tuning, capacity management, vendor evaluation, data integrity, security, and performance. They will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, middleware and software meet and adhere to internal organizational standards. The successful candidate will participate in technical research and development to enable continued innovation within the internal infrastructure.


Specific responsibilities include:


  • Work with a group of infrastructure automation engineers to develop automation for infrastructure services   
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation services 
  • Create API interface for infrastructure components to programatically manage infrastructure
  • Provide best practice and design framework for automation  
  • Automate infrastructure manual task for scale and efficiency



Required Experience/Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Information Technology services.
  • Experience must include:
  • Expert technical knowledge of Infrastructure technologies including cloud services (public and private cloud)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Infrastructure. (e.g. Intel, Virtual Technologies, IT Tools, Storage, backup, Active Directory and other relevant technologies)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills required
  • Works well independently as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and PCI compliance requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written technical and business communication skills
  • Ability to design and implement high availability solutions
  • Ability to design and implement disaster recovery solutions.
  • Understands and able to communicate Infrastructure  software licensing knowledge
