Meet Layla

 

Layla is an Associate Planner in our Planning & Allocation Department.  She is responsible for overseeing a set of commodities to ensure that they are is productive and priorities are met through effective supervision of day-to-day operations and creating optimal mix and flow at department level by managing unit/dollar plans to maximize store sales.

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Associate Planner we’d ask you to do the following:

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

40% Planning and Analysis

  • Partners with Merchandise Managers, Buyers, Department Plannin Manager, counterparts, and peers to review business, identify voids and opportunities, and maintain differentiation.
  • Identifies and recognizes business opportunities 3-6 months out (I.e. initiative analysis) through market availability and  trends analysis of sales
  • Leverages business tools and reports to drive the business
  • Ladder plan trending, analysis and maintenance (i.e. Average retail updates and escalation; Matrix and class/category maintenance; OLP maintenance)
  • Creates in-season and pre-season plans partnering with Planning Manager, Assistant Vice President, Merchandise Manager, Buying team, and counterparts
  • Utilizes key reports to identify and review store level opportunities and risks; Maintains capacity/volume bands

 

30% Strategy Execution

  • Oversee shipping strategy (i.e. Flow plans; Events; Store communications) to support Merchant vision
  • Monitor shipping strategy components and assess execution to ensure Right Product, Right Store, Right Time
  • New stores/Reno set-up – verification of floor plans, tracking and escalating flow concerns of all new stores prior to opening.

 

30% Talent Development

  • Train, coach, support, develop analyst(s); Providing effective and timely feedback;  Provides input for performance reviews and succession / talent calibration
  • Acts as effective role model for all Analysts regarding Core Company values; fosters sharing of ideas from all levels.
  • Assesses the training and development needs of each associate and partners with PM on Analyst’s development

Performs special projects as assigned

  • College business diploma or University degree or equivalent experience (2+ years).
  • Solid understanding of business tools and reports.
  • Able to utilize critical thinking skills from data and analysis.
  • Understands of off-price business model and retail landscape.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative business relationships
  • Strong problem solving skills, quickly identifies issues and concerns and execute solutions
