Meet Iris

 

Iris is a Merchandise Presentation and Communication Manager in our Store Operations Department.  She is responsible for participating in developing merchandise presentation strategies, developing and implementing communication strategies for stores, based upon the Merchant’s vision and the needs of the business.

 

To us, collaboration is more than a buzzword. Just ask Iris. She loves to share ideas, values the other voices around the table, inquires to challenge thinking and explore possibilities. Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Merchandise Presentation and Communication Managers we’d ask you to do the following:

 

Home Office

  • Responsible for collaborating with internal departments related to merchandise presentation (Marketing, Planning, Merchants and Property Development) to drive higher sales.
  • Manages processes for development of weekly merchandise presentation communications, development of information packages (seasonal updates,  in-store promotions, holiday and sales events, new fixtures and new departments.
  • Responsible for ensuring required training materials are updated and available for use by Presentation Managers and Store Management as needed
  • Oversees the development and updates of supporting materials for merchandising guidelines and merchandise training programs as required.
  • Oversees the rollouts of all merchandise presentation initiatives and analysis of sales data of these initiatives
  • Supports fixture plan process and plotting adjacent commodities.
  • Assists in the development and communication of major fixture rollouts.
  • Manages annual budgets (payroll project hours, fixture capital) as it relates to merchandise rollouts.

 

Field Store Operations

  • Ensures all new Merchandise department rollouts are communicated to Presentation Managers and Field Management.
  • Oversees merchandise presentation standards are communicated to stores via Reflexis, Elibrary and supplemental training documents.
  • Provides communication support to Regional Presentation Managers on merchandise presentation standards, promotional information, new department rollouts.
  • Occasional in store set up of initiatives for communication and documentation purposes

  • Degree in Visual Presentation.
  • Minimum five years in retail environment.
  • Two to three years in a visual training role.
  • Two to three years in Store Management position.
  • Advanced knowledge of Off Price Business Model, store policies and procedures, current merchandising standards, WorkSmart, Loss Prevention, BEST, scheduling, and an understanding of company practices.
  • Advanced computer skills including word processing; spreadsheet; presentation; and e-mail skills. Graphic design knowledge
  • Extreme sensory attention involved in analyzing floor plans and building layouts.
  • Ability to execute in store merchandise presentation standards and identify opportunities.
  • Extreme attention to detail: visual and grammatical
  • Communication skills including facilitation skills; verbal skills; and written skills.
  • Issue management skills including organizational skills; interpersonal skills including conflict management; and information gathering including active listening skills.
  • Managerial skills including identifying and communicating opportunities for improvements; operational planning and resource allocation.
  • Problem solving skills including analysis of information and developing solutions to problems.
  • Program management skills including determining the Company’s needs through gap analysis and soliciting feedback; assisting in the development of new programs or procedures within the Company’s strategies, evaluation of projects, programs and procedures against the Company’s strategic plans and all aspects of project management.
