Stefano is a Technical Engineer III in our Systems Department.  He is responsible for overseeing the coordination and implementation of Medium to large scale Store Implementation project initiatives.  This position acts as a liaison between US/Canada Home Office and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of projects, rollouts, new store installation/openings, relocations and remodels.  Additional responsibilities include second and third level technical support, oversee third party vendors for all stores and the coaching/mentoring of Technical Engineer I and II positions.

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Technical Engineer III, we’d ask you to do the following:


  • Oversees the planning and coordination of IT equipment implementation including; low voltage wiring, telephone systems, Point of Sale devices, sound systems, IP Cameras, and in store network in North America stores.
  • Maintains and distributes project schedules to internal partners, 3rd party vendors and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for ensuring issue logs are being accurately maintained during project roll-outs.
  • Responsible for travelling to stores for pre and post implementation validation and to support high visibility events such as Grand Openings.
  • Provides detailed reports regarding the status of each project to internal partners, stakeholders and Store Implementation management.
  • Makes recommendations to management for project scope changes with regard to budget and risk.
  • Attends project meetings and prepares meeting minutes and presentations.
  • Prioritizes issues and tracks/escalates until resolved by working in conjunction with cross functional department partners.
  • Assists in the coordination of pricing, estimating, scoping strategies for proposed projects and in the development and preparation of technical specifications. 
  • Tracks project success metrics.  Ensures projects meet internal and client expectations with respect to quality, budget, timelines and strategy. 
  • Conducts weekly reviews of project status with vendors and internal partners.  Assists in the evaluation of potential vendor problems, referring them to management.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures all incident tickets escalated are resolved in a timely manner and as efficiently as possible.
  • Provides support for external partners, sub-contractors and stakeholders including technical documentation and technical training on hardware and software.
  • Ensures all customer inquiries are responded to and resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Evaluates maintenance providers to ensure SLA adherence.
  • Ensures Service Level Agreements/Operational Level agreements (SLAs/OLAs) are being met with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Ensures adherence to all PCI standards, controls and legalities through constant re-engineering of security protocols via TJX Legal.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • College or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years Help Desk, Implementation, Development or Store Management experience.
  • Advanced communication skills including both written and verbal (English and French considered an asset).
  • Advanced computer skills including MS operating systems, MS Outlook email and MS Office 365.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong project management skills including preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects; identifying potential problems and creating contingency plans to avoid or alleviate issues from occurring.
  • Experience with Agile methodology for Project Management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to multitask in the work place and adapt to changing priorities.
  • The ability to operate independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills such as resourcefulness and the ability to think in methodical, analytical and logical manner, including attention to detail.
  • Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills including the analysis of information
