This position is for a skilled Technical Engineer to work on the implementation and support of IT Technology used within the Supply Chain area and TJX Europe Processing Centres  right across Europe. 

 

You will have experience within a Supply Chain environment including: WMS Systems (Warehouse Management Systems), RF & Mobile Technology and Printing & Barcode technology.  Added to this will be a strong core skillset in Desktop Support, Physical Server Support, Telephony, Network Technology, Server Room Racking and Data Cabling Standards, Asset management, Diagnostics and trouble shooting.

 

A good understanding of IT Service Operations (ITIL) including Incident and Problem management will also be a key attribute for being considered for this position.

 

This role operates on a 2 week rotating shift pattern between the hours of 7:00 - 15:00 & 14:00 - 22:00, Monday to Friday.

  

Major Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Provides basic to medium complexity technology support activities including off-shift support.
  • Performs routine to moderately complex technology engineering, administration and maintenance
  • Works closely with global IT Teams to solve basic to medium complexity technical incidents and problems and escalate when appropriate
  • Partners with global IT Teams on basic to medium complexity technology solutions
  • Performs simple to medium complexity technology changes and implementations globally
  • Participates in the Technology design process globally
  • Participates in disaster recovery design and execution globally
  • Works as a member of a project team on global IT Projects
  • Analyzes potential changes and enhancements to software and hardware to determine impact on existing production systems, system design standards and operating procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience installing and building technology and providing operational support.
  • Moderate knowledge of hardware and software technologies and best practices

  • Moderate knowledge of the organization, processes and customers

  • Ability to analyze possible solutions to moderate complexity issues using standard procedures

  • Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM)

  • Commitment to strong customer service and accountability
