Our Vision for this Role


As an experienced Agile Coach (SAFe), you’ll join us at the start of our exciting journey to transform TJX IT Product Teams to deliver faster, cheaper and with better quality through the adoption of SAFe and by leveraging a DevOps and Cloud mindset. 

Your expertise leading Scaled Agile transformations and demonstrated passion for driving Continuous Improvement in IT organizations, will enable you to play an integral part in transforming the way TJX delivers value to our IT stakeholders. 

As well as contributing to our transformational journey, you may also be called upon to act in an advisory capacity to smaller TJX IT delivery teams that have already adopted Scrum/Kanban.



The Skills that will Make You Successful


  • Strong Agile coaching experience, with expsoure to practicing/coaching Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) delivery.  You have most likely performed one or more of the following roles in your career to date - Agile Consultant, Product Owner/Manager, Scrum Master, RTE
  • Certification as a SAFe Program Consultant (SPC 4) required.  PMI-ACP, CSM, IC Agile (ICE-AC) etc. desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) required
  • Understanding of Agile technical best practices and DevOps concepts (CI/CD, TDD,) automation tools, coding standards, source control management, build processes, PaaS/IaaS (Microsoft Azure preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Agile metrics for teams and programs.
  • Deep knowledge of ADLM tools particularly Jira and Confluence required.
  • Hands-on experience participating in and leading Scrum/SAFe events, such as Sprint Planning, Release Planning, and Program Increment (PI) Planning.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and develop relationships at all levels of the organization. 
  • You are a strong and influential leader who collaborates naturally with others whatever their level in the organization. 
  • You demonstrate advanced problem solving skills, which you will use to improve our consistency in areas such as project planning, estimating and project delivery. 
  • You have an inquisitive disposition, are detail oriented and must be comfortable performing administrative tasks as well as the more strategic work you will be called on to undertake.
  • Pragmatism and the ability to strike the balance between the need for process versus the need to accelerate project delivery and not overburden teams with unnecessary administrative overhead is key.


The Value You’ll Deliver


  • Mentor and coach teams to adopt an agile mindset and become self-organizing.
  • Support the Transformation Team in fostering a ‘fail fast, fail cheap’ ethos in the organization in order to speed delivery, build in quality from the start and position our associates for success using the ‘new way’.
  • Assist with establishing a Center of Excellence (COE) for Agile practices and developing a culture of Continuous Improvement across our product teams.
  • May be required to establish an Agile training curriculum.
  • Provide guidance on PI planning and Inspect & Adapt events.
  • Responsible for the delivery of training and the day-to-day coaching needed to transition traditional development teams to Agile/Scaled Agile.
  • Advise organizational leadership on how best to monitor the success of Agile delivery.
  • Act as trusted advisor to teams transitioning from a matrixed project delivery structure to a product-based delivery organization.
  • Mentor and pair with change agents at TJX to enable them to become true SAFe champions and create sustaining Agile capabilities.
