The team:


The HR Service Centre in Region 1 provides a service to associates in the UK, ROI and Netherlands. The team receives a high volume of calls and emails on a daily basis with the aim to deliver routine HR advice against the HR service catalogue and performance dashboard in each country.


The work of the HR Advisor (Cases) is sharing policy-led advice to managers and associates either on the phone or on email. Managers require advice on a number of policies including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence.


HRSC is also the first point of contact for general payslip queries receiving a high volume of calls on pay day.


The role:


We are looking for a Dutch speaking HR Advisor to support the UK & ROI with a focus on delivering a service to the Netherlands. This will involve being the first point of contact on ER issues and supporting managers with invite and outcome letters in Dutch.


This is a 12 month maternity cover opportunity.


The role works closely with the Netherlands ER Manager ensuring the HRSC have support on Dutch policies and legislation.


The role offers continuous learning and training sessions delivered by the Cases team leader and ER with support from HRBP’s. 


Key Responsibilities


  • Be the first point of contact in HR, delivering an advisory service
  • Log cases onto the HR case management system (ServiceNow)
  • Provide support and coaching to associates to make their lives easier by encouraging them to self-serve where possible and appropriate
  • Ability to spot patterns and identify where there is an opportunity for improvement
  • Refer to Cases team leader, HRBP’s and ER for complex cases and support
  • Understand and interpret multi-country HR policies and processes to deliver advice


Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience


  • Confident and credible as the face of HR to the business
  • Customer focused
  • Ability to challenge tactfully and to build capability to self-serve
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining the customer service standards
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Oracle)
  • Working towards CIPD (or similar) would be an advantage but not essential
  • A strong and broad knowledge of HR policies and processes in the countries of the HR Service Centre would be an advantage
  • Experience of working in a HR Service Centre would be an advantage
