JOB SUMMARY

 

Working out of a TJX satellite office, interacts with vendors on behalf of The TJX Companies, Inc. various divisions to support timely delivery of merchandise and accurate execution of logistics policies and procedures to minimize supply chain disruptions. Develops and trains vendors to ensure accurate understanding of TJX best practices and government requirements related to the direct importation of merchandise into U.S., Canadian and U.K./EU markets. Utilizes and develops reporting to analyze and identify problematic vendors and implements corrective action plans to correct noncompliant execution of TJX logistics standards. Establishes strong working relationships with corporate divisions' logistics groups to ensure mutual understanding and efficient management of vendor community.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop, implement, and train existing vendors on TJX policies and procedures and government agency requirements of all TJX divisions importing countries, as it relates to international buys
  • Proper understanding of purchase order, pre-ticketing standards, packing requirements, carton labelling, freight and shipping processes, and all required imports documentation and regulatory product requirements
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of all TJX required logistics data and information
  • Maintains and updates contact information for all vendors services
  • Communicate company’s logistics guides and import processes to various vendors
  • Conducts training on programmes and answers questions
  • Provide instruction to vendors on new government regulations that may impede the importing process
  • Travels to vendor communities, training as the business deems necessary
  • Analyses, trains, communicates, and supports the vendors in understanding noncompliant execution to TJX logistics standards. Develops individual action plans, implements and monitors progress with vendor to promote improvement in noncompliant areas. Provides feedback on noncompliant merchant instruction
  • Forms strong working relationships with all TJX corporate logistics divisions, and takes ownership on becoming an expert on TJX standards and initiatives as well as industry practices
  • Establishes as a key contact for new vendors, and provides support on TJX logistics procedures and service providers
  • Responsible for ad-hoc projects as required by the business

 

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting vendor community, retail logistics and trade compliance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, Great organisation, initiative, and analytical skills, Self-starter, able to work independently
  • Ability to communicate across organisational groups and levels internally and externally
  • High level of understanding of excel and PowerPoint
  • Good follow through skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet corporate goals
  • 3 to 5 years supporting vendor community on retail logistics and trade compliance
