The main purpose of the role is to protect the TJX Europe estate through the identification, management and mitigation of business risks. Prioritizing those that deliver a successful meeting with our customers, increase our Risk Resilience and the profitability of our business.

Accountable for determining, setting and implementing the strategy for Merchandise Compliance, Insurance Liabilities & Claims management, Business Continuity and Risk Analytics. Utilising all available Risk Management tools, tactics and insight to continually improve, communicate and transform our business. Influencing and collaborating with stakeholders to secure our operational processes to effectively manage and control known risks and reduce exposures.


Key Responsibilities
• Accountable for the development and implementation of the European Risk management strategy.
• Responsible for the setting of performance standards and departmental objectives, ensuring the implementation of individual business plans that deliver upon, align with and support TJX Europe Business priorities.
• Responsible for the development of a high performing team. Utilising the TJX cultural factors, leadership competencies and all available team and talent development tools.
• Develop strong, effective cross functional business partnerships with internal & external customers.
• Communicate corporate policy arrangements and strategies in the area of responsibility across all divisions of TJX Europe
• Provide effective, detailed Risk analysis and trend reporting throughout TJX Europe
• Accountable for the development and implementation of appropriate corporate agreements and policies across all areas of responsibility with internal/external business partners
• Responsibility for sub-functional fiscal budget to ensure effective cost management control and leveraging of costs
• Accountable for the design and successful implementation of educational training programmes ensuring effectiveness and consistency throughout all divisions.
• Build and develop internal sub-function resource and resource expertise in consideration of business development and to meet Corporate European expansion objectives.
• Support all divisions through the sourcing of appropriate localised resources, including external business partners and consultancies.
• Accountable for the consistent standard of country legislative compliance through effective consultation, communication and partnerships with external regulatory bodies.
• Ensure the management of effective investigations arising from serious incidents to determine route cause and provide recommendations for improvements of standards
• Accountable for the development of effective strategies within the area of responsibility to protect the company’s assets, improve defensibility and ensure appropriate commercial actions.
• Deputise for AVP Head of Risk on areas of responsibility and expertise.
