Senior Project Manager

From initial concept to system development, and implementation through to training and support, they drive the operational excellence of our business, giving us the tools we need to create value for our customers.

 

Our IT Store Implementations Team based in our Head Office in Watfor is currently looking for an new addition to the team in the area of POS and payment systems.

This is a newly created Project Manager role to manage medium to large projects with budgets of up to £500k-£1M for all our business units across Europe.

This position will supervise project teams of up to 7 other associates and external resources to deliver solutions, coordinate the activity for critical projects across chain, business and application boundaries and act as a mentor to other associates providing a high degree of business and application expertise. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead moderately to highly complex IT projects through the defined solution delivery process which covers, but is not limited to, Initiation, Design, Build / Test (Systems/UAT), Implementation and Warranty until accepted by the customer and supported by IT Operations.
  • Lead project and/or program activities and reports on status to ensure that assigned projects are completed on time, within approved budget, and provides desired business value.
  • Assign priorities for and coordinates the activities of project staff, including the relevant third party staff as needed.
  • Responsible for the project and/or program plan, work breakdown structure, and identified critical path.
  • Complete a Post Implementation review, Lessons Learned and feeds back for process improvement.
  • Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.  Identify and solve issues, plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
  • Coach, mentor and develop project staff and direct reports.

 

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

 

  • Extensive previous experience of managing medium to large projects within a matrix organisation throughout the full project life cycle.
  • Experience of project methodologies such as Waterfall or Prince2 – Agile will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Comply with Sarbanes Oxley and PCI.
  • Experience in retail or FMCG/Fast Moving business projects, third party management.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and business partnering skills, as well as excellent stakeholder communication.
  • Formal Project Management Accreditation:  Current PRINCEII and/or PMP Practitioner Certification, Lean/Six Sigma, ITIL Foundation and/or QMS/Test management experience/exposure will be an advantage
  • Extensive team management experience with proven track record of completing testing projects to the highest standards and within agreed project milestone
  • Experience with or knowledge or POS applications, payment systems or the payment industry will be an advantage.
