Job Description


We are looking for QA Analyst III  to join our growing IT team in Buying and Merchendising domain.You will lead, support and conduct the testing of new and existing systems across our Core Services (Buy, Sell, Reward, etc) ensuring that they are fit for purpose and on time to support our European development and expansion priorities.

You will shape, develop and support our Enterprise Quality Assurance projects, relationships and endeavours with TJX Corporate to help implement and consistently drive, through regular improvement, the path to a TJX - Test Centre of Excellence.



Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience


  • Prince 2 or experience of another project management methodology required;
  • Excellent understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (Waterfall and Agile);
  • Detailed understanding of Software Testing Methodologies and Requirements Analysis;
  • Detailed understanding of Test Process Improvement;
  • Formal Test Accreditation (ISQTB Certification (Test Analyst);
  • Experience of co-ordination and management of third parties including offshore and outsourced relationships;
  • Drive for personal development opportunities;
  • Keen to develop and mentor others within their team;
  • Performs well in a team, and is able to motivate others through a strong team ethos;
  • Proven ability to manage others and delegate work efficiently and fairly;
  • Motivated by creativity and innovation and highly developed in these skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience of report writing and able to translate complex technical language into simple terms;
  • High attention to detail and the desire to “get it right”;
  • Excellent knowledge of the off-price model along with experience from another TJXE department within the business, is preferred;
  • Strong working knowledge in enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2);
  • Strong working knowledge of one or more operating systems (AIX, Windows, Linux);
  • Experience of other testing disciplines (Performance, Load, Automation, Data Warehousing) is beneficial;
  • Experience of scripting languages in relation to development and/or testing is beneficial





  • Experience working with teams located in multiple geographies / time zones and experience operating in multi-lingual environments
  • Strong analytical skills and aptitude for problem solving





  • Excellent knowledge of the Merchandising Business Operations such as merchandise planning and allocations is preferred within an off-price retailer



Testing Disciplines:


  • Proven experience across all phases of testing (System Functional Testing, System Integration Testing, Regression Testing, End to End Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Deployment Verification Testing )
  • Proven experience in defining the Test strategies and Test Phase Plans for complex multi-million dollar programmes
  • Proven experience in detailed estimating for all test phases / activities on complex multi-million dollar programmes is essential
  • Excellent written documentation skills for Test artefacts such as Test strategies, Test plans, Test Scripts and Test Completion reports
  • Proven experience in conducting requirements ambiguity reviews
  • Proven experience of reviewing technical SDLC documents including Technical Designs, Solution Architecture Designs and Integration Specifications
  • Experience in managing Test environments and Test data for various test phases
  • Experience of conducting and validating Data Migration/ Conversion/ Reconciliation
  • Experience in facilitating, managing and coordinating UAT with the business users and project team
  • Experience of working on various types of applications developed in house and third party developed systems including COTS ERP systems
  • Experience in supporting the production support teams and acting as a Subject Matter Expert in incident triage and resolution



Technical Skills, Knowledge, Experience


  • Whilst a Formal Test Accreditation (ISQTB Certification (Test Analyst) is preferred, an ISEB Foundation is beneficial
  • Experience of scripting languages such as Vbscript
  • Proven experience of legacy mainframe testing for Cobol, CICS, DB2, IMS DB/DC systems along with legacy .NET applications and Data
  • Strong working experience of AS400 systems testing
  • Proven experience in writing scripts and macros for Rumba Mainframe to support testing activities
  • Experience in Cognos BI suite and experience in data mining for the complex reports
  • Proven experience in building excel prototypes using excel macros for data mining and validating complex calculations
  • Strong Back End testing experience in database validation, including knowledge of SQL Server database management and PL SQL coding



Test Automation Experience


  • Knowledge of one or more of Java, C#.NET, JavaScript, JUnit, TestNG, HTML, CSS, SQL
  • Experience with end-to-end test automation in particular building the framework from scratch, e.g. UFT, Selenium, Protractor
  • Experience in reviewing the automation testing artefacts developed by the third party vendors
  • Experience with test management tools (Team Foundation Server, HP Quality Centre, Jira)
  • Experience and understanding of continuous Integration tools and automated testing (e.g. Jenkins, Selenium)
  • Working Knowledge of DevOps (e.g. AWS)
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment (SCRUM, TDD, BDD)
  • Experience in API testing and knowledge of in tools such as Postman, SOAPUI, Jmeter is beneficial
