Major Responsibilities:


•Provides technical and management oversight for all activities within area of responsibility, working with technical staff to resolve and overcome technical issues and impediments as needed.
•Validates Sizing/estimates for activities in area of responsibility.
•Acts as the primary contact point for escalations within domain.
•Monitors progress taking corrective action as needed, relaying project status to appropriate Project Manager (PM) and/or Technical Delivery Manager (TDM).
•Assigns resources to projects and other work assignments; manages demand versus capacity gaps and resource contention issues.
•Reviews and approves all applicable project documents and deliverables.
•Conducts performance appraisals of staff and provides career guidance through regular coaching.
•Ensures that standards and best practices are published, maintained and enforced.
•Special projects as needed.

 


Decision Making/ Scope of responsibility:

 

•Responsible for decisions that directly impact project timelines and budgets.
•Recommends, implements and maintains techniques and standards used in area of responsibility.
•Assigns work group resources to projects and other activities, leveraging third party resources when appropriate.
•Recommends hire/fire, training, development, and disciplinary actions for subordinates.
•Manages associate compensation budget to plan for assignment team.
•Accountable for managing to Professional Services budget for assigned deliverables.
•Participates in recommendations associated with the use of third parties for resource and service needs; reviews SOWs related to third party services.

 


Skills and Knowledge:

 

•Working knowledge of technologies and practices within area of responsibility.
•Experience with applications; technologies, frameworks, project management and/or other methodologies applicable to assigned domain.
•Team management and organisation skills; ability to lead, motivate and direct global workgroup.
•Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to influence others to achieve results.
•Ability to work cross functionally within IT and the business; strong problem solving and analytic skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to work effectively in fast paced, demanding and fluid environment. Ability to alter direction easily to accommodate changing priorities.
•Ability to manage conflict and hold people accountable. Coaching and mentoring skills.
•Fluent with desktop productivity suite (e.g. email, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications).
