Job Summary

We are recruiting for a Technical Engineer II based at our TJX Europe Wakefield Processing Centre in Knottingley. This role operates on a 2 week rotating shift 7:00 – 15:00 & 14:00 – 22:00 Monday - Friday.   


It is important to note that this role is specifically focussed on the implementation and support of IT Technology used within the Supply Chain area.


Key Requirements

  • An ideal candidate will have experience within a Supply Chain environment with exposure to WMS Systems, RF & Mobile Technology, Printing & Barcode technology. 
  • You will also have a strong core skillset in Desktop Support, Physical Server Support, Telephony, Network Technology, Server Room Racking and Data Cabling Standards, Asset management, Diagnostics and trouble shooting.
  • You will also have a good understanding of IT Service Operations (ITIL) including Incident and Problem management. 
  • Experience of working closely with Business Customers, Global/remote IT Teams and with 3rd Party Vendors on IT Service.
  • Demonstrate strong Self Leader Competencies and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Responsibilities/ Duties
  • Provides basic to medium complexity technology support activities including off-shift support. Performs routine to moderately complex technology engineering, administration and maintenance.
  • Works closely with global IT Teams to solve basic to medium complexity technical incidents and problems and escalate when appropriate.
  • Acts as a point of escalation for IT Service Delivery onsite and partners with global IT Teams on basic to medium complexity technology solutions.
  • Performs simple to medium complexity technology changes and implementations globally.
  • Participates in the Technology design process globally.
  • Participates in disaster recovery design and execution globally.
  • Works as a member of a project team on global IT Projects.
  • Analyzes potential changes and enhancements to software and hardware to determine impact on existing production systems, system design standards and operating procedures.
  • Skills/Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware and software technologies and best practices in this area.
  • Strong knowledge of the organization, processes and customers.
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions to complex issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM).
  • Commitment to strong customer service and accountability.
  • Experienced in compliance best practices for technology platforms
  • Service Now Experience and Agile teams/concepts/tools awareness would be preferable


On call / Rota
The successful associate will be required to be part of the team on-call rota whereby support for critical Incidents only is provided Out of Team Working Hours. This would be around 8 times per year on the current rota and is paid upon completion of the on-call period together with your monthly salary.


This role is based in one location however we may require travel to other TJX facilities on an occasional basis.
