This role works collaboratively with our global Buying organisation and externally to identify risks and proactively seek opportunities to ensure our Merchants place the right products with the right factories, ensuring legal, ethical and social compliance requirements.


As a new role within our Buying Operations Support function you’ll define and set the standards and will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with our Buying Leadership Team to identify key areas of risk whilst balancing commercial opportunity, leading any change management and engagement activities to ensure the success of our Social Compliance priorities;
  • Oversee and drive the audit process for all third parties, working with factories to remediate any shortfalls and develop solutions for key areas of risk and work with the Buying community with managing and developing vendor relationships in compliance;
  • Partnering across the business and externally with our sustainability consultants etc, capturing data on compliance issues to allow the wider function to perform analytics and spot trends and emerging risks.


What are we looking for?

  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of 3rd party / factory audit process, which may be from a production buying, garment technology, product development or similar background;
  • Deep understanding of audit reports and key areas of risk related to the industry, countries, wages, modern slavery, child labour, working hours etc);
  • Advocate of Social Compliance while able to balance needs of industry and supply base;
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and navigating a complex fast paced environment, building strong relationships to influence decisions;
  • Ideally experience of producing apparel although we’ll consider other categories (e.g. accessories, furniture etc) in key manufacturing countries including (but not limited to) Turkey, China, India and Bangladesh
